A phone cannot join
- Make sure the vehicle is parked and the Karpool join screen is open.
- Put the Companion phone and Karpool device on a local network or hotspot where they can reach each other.
- Keep Karpool Companion open in the foreground.
- Scan the current code again. Join codes expire after about ten minutes.
- If asked, allow Camera and Local Network or Nearby Devices access.
The microphone is not reacting
- Check that Karpool Companion has microphone permission in system settings.
- Keep Companion open and the phone awake while singing.
- Move closer to the phone and avoid covering its microphone.
- Leave and rejoin the party if the connection status is stale.
Companion analyzes microphone audio on the phone and sends pitch events, not recordings, to the game.
Local-network tips
Guest Wi-Fi networks can block devices from seeing one another. If both devices are connected but joining fails, try a normal trusted Wi-Fi network or a hotspot. Current local gameplay traffic is not transport-encrypted, so avoid untrusted public networks.
Parked use only
Karpool’s car experience is only for a safely parked vehicle. When the car begins moving, the game pauses. Do not attempt to bypass vehicle restrictions or interact with the game while driving.
Contact support
Include the app (Karpool or Companion), device model, OS version, and what happened. Do not send join links, Wi-Fi passwords, or private song files.
